Taylor Says

While perusing Instagram I saw the cutest pair of heels tagged in a post, and I just had to know where they were from!  I looked up the company that was tagged, Taylor Says, and was seriously blown away by how cool these shoes were.  They were a pretty decent price--not super budget friendly, but not breaking the bank either.  Most of their shoes cost around $130-$200, but, as far as I can tell, they are totally worth it.  The coolest thing about these shoes is the bottoms.  They have really fun prints on each and I totally recommend checking them out!  Here are a few pairs that I am obsessing over

Have you purchased anything from Taylor Says?  What is your favorite pair?

Brunching

One of my favorite things about the weekend is getting to have brunch with my family.  It is such a small thing, but I look forward to it every weekend, even if we are just brunching at home.  Today my mom and I are going out to brunch together since my dad will be working, so I thought I would share a little brunch outfit inspiration on the blog today!

Whenever I go out to brunch I opt for a dressy casual look, so I usually go with a fun dress and some sandals.  I specifically love my Joie sandals because they are so comfy and great for any occasion!  I also tend to grab my GiGi New York clutch now that I own one.  It is the perfect grab and go bag for fun things like brunch or a day out with friends!

Curate Boutique

Instead of doing my regular Five on Friday this week, I thought I would do something a little different and introduce you to new favorite boutique of mine.  The storefront is actually in my local city and I was so excited to find that they had an online store as well.  I actually met the owner of Curate by complete chance while my friends and I were walking around and checking out some local boutiques.  I have some exciting things planned, but I can't share too much yet; however, I can share some of my favorite items from the store!

I absolutely love Curate!  They have even more products in store if you are ever in the area, but for now you can shop here!

Basic Beauty

Since I don't blog about the makeup I wear very often or my skincare routine, I thought I would share a few essential items with you today.  For the most part, I don't wear a lot of makeup.  I find that it is really heavy when I wear anything more than some mascara, a little coverup to touch up some red spots, and a lipstick that matches my outfit.  Anything more than that makes me feel gross by the end of the day, especially if I have big plans.

As far as my skincare routine goes, I keep it pretty simple too.  I can't use anything too harsh on my face so I only have two products I use: Clinique's Mild Face Soap and Neutrogena's Grapefruit Wash.  Both do wonders for my skin!  I also need lots of moisture on both my face and hands.  For my face I just use Lubriderm, but for my hands I like to use the Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Cream from Crabtree and Evelyn.  I absolutely love the way it makes my hands feel!

So, that is about it for my beauty routine.  It is really easy and simple-- just the way I like it!

Starting the Day Off Right

Being the summer, I always find starting the day to be a difficult task.  Sleeping in always feels great, but when I hit the 10 AM point, my day goes down hill.  Being in bed that long just isn't fulfilling and in no way helps me start the day right.  To get the day off to a good start I have been following this set of tips!
How to Start the Day Off Right
Setting my alarm clock to 8:30 or 9:00 really helps me get up and going at the perfect time-- I always use Kathie Lee and Hoda as my motivation to get out of bed before 10 haha!  I also, usually take my mornings to get work done on my blog.  I find it very relaxing and it is great to start my day off doing something I love!

How do you start the day right?

Facing College Fears

Now that college is approaching faster and faster, I am getting more and more excited!  Going off on my own and finding my way in life is something I have looked foreword to since I was little.  I will get to live on my own, think for myself, and really understand what it is like to be an adult; however, with all the excitement comes fear

I was watching the Today Show yesterday and they had a feature on graduates from college1 in 5 graduates now live at home, struggle with loans and debt, and are still trying to find a career.  I knew the economy was bad and going into college I would have some expenses, but the reality really hit when I heard that story on the news.  How will I keep myself from being 1 out of 5, and how will I make it through college without debt.

The reality it is, there is no way of knowing.  So, instead of worrying and fearing what may happen, I am going to take things as they come: one step at a time, otherwise how will I enjoy the experience and soak up every minute of it!

How are you facing your college fears?

Too Much Stress

I feel like I post about stress a lot, but sometimes I just need to vent and writing about it really helps me out.  For being summer,  I have been finding things super stressful.  Work has been stressful, days have been stressful, people have been stressful; however, all the stress really isn't great for me and I didn't even notice how bad I was getting until Seth pointed it out yesterday, so I am going to try to fix the problem.

I think the best way to deal with the stress is to a) not give up on anything and b) take a step back from the situation.  Instead of rushing things or getting all wrapped up in something I just need to take some time out of my day for me where I can calm down and relax.  I am going to start of with giving myself 15 minutes away from the TV, computer, phone and just being.  Hopefully that will help with the stress... I may even use the 15 minutes to meditate and clear my mind

Do you have any stress tips?

C. Wonder Sale

I got an email from C. Wonder yesterday about the great sale they are having.  To be completely honest, I haven't been on C. Wonder's site in a while, but when I got the news about the sale I had to check it out.  After scrolling through the pages of sale items, I was so pleased with the deals they had.  Some items were up to 70% off!  Here are a few items I just had to share from the sale!

I am especially loving all of the shoes on sale!  I am, needless to say, a shoe girl and when I find a good deal like this it is pretty hard to pass up.  You can check out all of the sale items here!

What are your favorites from the sale?

Five on Friday

As I expected the excitement of not having school has begun to wear off a little.  I still love being able to sleep in, have more time to read and work on my blog, and have more time to spend with friends; however, it gets boring when you don't have something to keep you busy everyday.  Luckily I have the great invention of the internet to keep me occupied.  Here is what I am loving this week!

1. I finally posted the Joie sandals review.

2. GiGi New York is once again having a great promotionI always love to jump on free shipping when GiGi offers it!

3. This great water color inspiration from the Glitter Guide.

4. I always love affordable, cute sleepwear.

5. This fun giveaway!  Hurry and enter because it ends on Sunday!

Day to Night

Today is one of those days where I will be super busy.  I have to get some work done this morning, then go to the mall with Seth, and then later we are going out to dinner.  I love being busy, but being busy requires me to have easy day to night outfits.  When I'm this busy, I usually opt for a dress or a skirt because they are really easy to wear casually and then dress up later.  Here is a great day to night look for any of you busy women out there!

I love how easy it is to transition a skirt into a night look.  You honestly don't even have to switch out the shirt if you don't have the time.  Just change into some heels, switch out your handbag for a clutch, throw on some lipstick, and you are good to go!

Summer Reading Advice

Summer reading is always super difficult for me.  I tend to wait till the last minute to read my books and then right around the corner the test comes.  I know we hate to admit it, but most of us have had or still have this issue.  Here are some tips that have helped me get through and even enjoy my summer reading!

Summer Reading Advice

By using one or two of these tips, my summer reading has gotten a lot easier than it used to be.  I personally follow tip #2, #3, and #5 religiously throughout the summer so I can get my reading done.  I also just find it nice to start and end my day by reading a book I find enjoyable.

A New Summer Sandal

I mentioned a while I ago that I would make sure I gave you a good review on the new Joie sandals I got, so here it is!  These sandals are absolutely fantastic.  They are so light, very comfortable to walk in, and great for travel.  My favorite thing about them is that they go with everything, as I am sure you can tell by the multiple outfit posts I have made with them.

The only con about the sandals is that there isn't any arch support for those of you who need it.  So if arch support is what you are looking for, these sandals probably aren't the best for you.  I would also go a half size up to a whole size up from what you usually wear; these sandals definitely tend to run small.  I also have heard that they are very narrow, however, I haven't found that to be an issue at all.

Here are a few pictures I took of my new favorite sandals!

I absolutely love my Joie sandals and I would recommend them to anyway as the new summer sandal!  You can find some here for a great price!

Do you have any Joie sandals?  What do you think?

Summer Giveaway with Little Problems

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Little Problems was starting up again after having a few issues within the company.  As part of helping them to get back on their feet, Lauren and I thought it would be fun to do a summer giveaway.  The winner of the giveaway will receive one koozie from the new line Little Problems is installing!  I wish you all the best of luck!

Weekend Wear

I really liked doing this post last weekend, so I thought I would do it again today!  This weekend is, of course, Father's Day, along with a couple other events.  I am so excited because today Kayla and I will be attending the "Shop Hop" event.  Basically it is a fun, little way to get people to check out local boutiques and just have a good time with friends!  Here is what I plan on wearing this weekend!

Five on Friday

What a great first week of summer!  I can't explain how good it was to sleep in, wake-up and watch the Today show, have a cup of coffee, and then get my work done.  Honestly, sleeping in makes me feel so much better!  I already get so much more done because I feel so rested when I get up in the morning.  Anyway, here are a few things that I am loving for this first week of summer!

1. Orange is the New Black-- I can't get enough of this show and I couldn't recommend it more!  It is a little risque, but the writing and acting is fantastic!

2. This fun piece of jewelry

3. I can't get enough of Maxi dresses.

4. These fun jeans from Gap.

5. Still can't get enough of my GiGi New York clutch!

What are you loving this week?
