Weekend Review

This weekend can be solely described in four words: work, sleep, relax, and shop.  Despite being on spring break, I feel like I have been doing so much!  I walked around all day yesterday and then I did nothing at work.  We only had around 18 people come in the entire to see movies.  You would think not having to work while working would be relaxing, but I was just too exhausted to enjoy the downtime haha.  I actually almost fell asleep in the chair when I got home... it took me way too much effort to finally get into bed haha.  Anyway, here are a few pictures that describe my weekend!

I just started reading Life of Pi and I must say it is really good so far; even the opening note was fantastically written!  I also got to see my dear friends on Saturday after work, as I'm sure you know by the Instagram picture they posted haha.  Lastly, I shopped till I dropped--literally--yesterday!  I took that selfie on my way to the mall and then the mirror pic at Nordstrom.  I got that trench at Nordstrom Rack and I love it!  There will definitely be some outfit posts coming up soon ;)

Oh, and one more thing, I decided against the Cuyana bag... you are all probably shocked since I was so obsessive; however, after purchasing the similar Madewell Transport tote, I realized that style of bag just isn't for me.  But, nonetheless both totes are great and I would highly recommend either of them!

What did you do this weekend?

Interview Tips for Victoria

Last week I guest posted for Victoria over on her blog and I thought it was a guest post I should share with my readers too!  Job interviews can be very tricky and giving the right impression makes a whole world of a difference.  So, here is my guest post on interview tips!

---

If you follow my blog, Prep on a Budget, you know that I recently interviewed for a job at my local movie theater and I got the position.  I am loving my new job and I think my interview really made the decision in me getting the job.  Interviews are so important and vital, especially when you start working in the professional world (not there yet, but soon!).  They show the company/person who you are and why you are there for the job.  I have interviewed several times before, so I think I have some good tips on how to perfect your interview.

1. Be yourself: No one is going to want to hire someone who acts completely different from who they are in real life.  If you are you, then you are already one step ahead of the rest.  When you show your personality, people get a sense of who you are and why you will be important to their business.

2. Look professional:  We all hate to admit it, but we all give first impressions by the way we dress; that is why it is important to dress nice for an interview.  By doing this you look professional and you look like you know what you are talking about, plus you are bound to be more confident!

3. Background knowledge:  I cannot stress this tip enough.  When you apply for a job you should have some general background knowledge or interest in the company you want to work for.  I made this mistake with my first interview when I barely knew anything about the brand... whoops; however I was much more prepared for working at the theater because I love films and I know a lot about the business in general.  So, definitely have background knowledge.

4. Be confident:  Even though we are all nervous for interviews, it is good to stay positive and confident.  When you look and act like you are confident you will shine and feel better about yourself too!  Trust me, employers will notice!

5. Don't be discouraged:  This is the last tip to, well, the post-interview.  If you don't get the job, don't let it get you down.  There will always be other jobs and who knows, the next job might be a better fit anyway!  I know my current job is a much better fit than some places I have interviewed at before!

I hope all of these tips help prepare you for your first interview and I wish you the best of luck!  Once again, a big thanks to Victoria for asking me to guest post :)

Staying Home?

This year, like almost every year, I am staying home for spring break; however, even though the warm temperatures are tempting, I have some fun plans for anyone staying home for spring break this year.  I personally will be relaxing for the first couple of days, but after that I have some really fun ideas for my break.  Here are some great ideas for staying home over break!
Staying Home?
Some of the top things on my list are reading (Life of Pi!), having a themed movie night, princess night anyone?, and treating myself.  These are all great ways to make staying at home a fun, yet relaxing spring break!  I also really want to try making something new for breakfast since I never get too creative.  I'll share some recipes when I find some!

Oh and by the way, the vote is in and my treat for myself is going to be the Cuyana tote I have been lusting and drooling over for weeks.  I am going to go with the tan color, as you all suggested, and possibly add my initials in gold embossing!

What are you doing for spring break?

Five on Friday

Well it is once again time for another Five on Friday!  I feel like the weeks have been flying by lately and now it is spring break.  It honestly completely creeped up on me haha; however I am not going anywhere so it is just going to be a nice relaxing week for me!  Here are a few things I am loving this week!
1. P.F. Changs new seasonal desert!  It is delicious!

2. Well I am going to get the tote, but I need your opinion on color... 1/2/3

3. This fun quiz... I got Aleksandr Petrovsky haha!

4. The bkr bottle.

5. This very true fortune.

What are you loving this Friday?  Are you going anywhere for spring break?

Dream Spring Look

These last few days I have been dreaming of the beach, especially since I saw some great tunics at J.Crew Factory!  Since I am loving that beachy look so much, I thought I would create my dream spring look for the beach!

Of course there is none other than the Cuyana tote haha.  I am definitely going to get one, now I just need to decide on a color!  I also have one of the Factory tunics featured that I am loving; they are so cute and perfect for the spring.  Lastly, I have a few small accessories including bright flowers, Life of Pi, sunnies, wedges, and a bkr water bottle.  I am so excited to read Life of Pi!  It is a fantastic novel--so I've heard--and it will be the perfect spring read!

What is your dream spring look?

Ame and Lulu Tote

A few months ago, I won Grace's Ame and Lulu tote giveawayI was so excited because I absolutely love the tote and I couldn't wait to have one of my own to use!  Now that it is spring and play/musical season for me, I am getting so much use out of my tote.  It carries all of my make-up, tights, shoes, and hair supplies for getting ready; plus it is great for anything really!

I am so happy that I won this tote and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good carry-all bag!

P.S. This is not a sponsored post, I just love this bag haha!

Spring Wardrobe

It is finally spring and I am so happy because that means I get to pull out my favorite dresses, sandals, shorts, and anything else that would be too cold for the winter months!  It is always so refreshing to wear spring clothes again and get a few new pieces too.  This spring I am opting for fun prints and a lot of great neutrals--such a fantastic trend!  Here are a few of my favorites for this spring season!

If you haven't noticed, I am becoming way too obsessed with the Cuyana bag I have pictured.  It is absolutely gorgeous and I really think I might have to get it!  I have heard such great things about the company and their mission is fantastic.

I am also loving navy this season and I think I may be turning into Mackenzie Horan from Design Darling haha (#navyornothing)!

What are your favorite pieces for spring?

Beauty and the Beast

Okay, so I will now be getting back on track with blogging after this long, but fantastic weekend!  I must say this was a wonderful show and I wish I could do it every weekend.  Yesterday I was crying my eyes out because I knew how much I would miss the show and everyone in it; however besides all of that the show was great and I am so happy with how well it went.  I mean it was great and I cannot thank everyone enough for all of the support!  Here are a few pictures!

This tote is fantastic and I will definitely have a review up this week!

Sorry I don't have tons of photos, I tend to caught up in the moment and I never end up taking any; however I can always rely on my friends to have some saved for ;)

Have you ever been in a musical?

A Few Obsessions

First of all, I would like to thank everyone so much for all of the support on my post yesterday!  Opening night was fantastic and I can't wait to get started on my two shows today.  Oh and my solo, "Beauty and the Beast", went off without a hitch!  I was so proud of myself!  Anyway, since I have such a busy weekend I thought I would do an easy post today: a few things I obsessing over.

1. I feel like I keep posting about this bag haha, but I just love it and I think I may just take the leap and purchase!  I have heard great things :)

2. My favorite reusable cup broke, so possibly another LP tumbler or a bkr!

3. This bikini has me dreaming of the sunshine!

What are you currently obsessed with?
